Don't wait for the next fuel bill: download these free guides to renewables now

Solar PV power can replace a significant proportion of the mains electricity and diesel currently used in rural water pumping.

Farmers like Scott Morgan (here, showing off the solar PV array on his property at Kensal Green) will help participants at the OEH/NSWFA's free seminar series get a practical perspective on solar PV pumping and on-farm renewables.

This opportunity lies in two areas:
  • stock and domestic pumping; and
  • bulk water pumping for irrigation.

Whether your pumping task is large or small, it is important that you approach solar from an informed position.

Farmers who made time to attend the NSWFA and OEH renewable energy and solar PV pumping seminar series launch in Griffith, NSW got a wealth of practical information on solar PV pumping from local producers as well as expert tips and guidance.

They also got first look at two practical new guides to implementing renewable energy systems on-farm that specifically address farmers’ needs.

Get local info, practical tips and first-hand knowledge about on-farm renewable energy options such as the solar photovoltaic array shown, and find out how investing in renewables can help your business' bottom line.

The two guides, Renewable energy in agriculture: A farmer’s guide to technology and feasibility and Solar-powered pumping in agriculture: A guide to system selection and design, were produced by NSW Farmers Association (NSWFA) in collaboration with the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage (OEH).

As adjuncts to the solar PV pumping guide, NSWFA and OEH released two targeted eight-page supplements, one for livestock farmers and the other for those running irrigated operations.

You can download free pdf versions of either (or both) guides here:
